Following the announcement from the government to lower the alert level, we are operating again under strict guidelines. All of our carers and parents must help us follow Public Health requirements to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Only use Childcare services if you need to
We recommend that if possible children should learn from home. If children can be safely cared for at home, then it is recommended they stay home in levels 3 and 4.
Children, staff and parents who are at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19 are encouraged to stay home wherever possible
It is important that people who are vulnerable to COVID-19 make the right choices for their situation. If you or anyone in your whanau is especially vulnerable it is important that your children learn from home to avoid possible health issues.
Parents/caregivers are asked to be vigilant about keeping any sick children at home. If a sick child comes to the service, you must send them home.
You need to communicate clearly with parents/caregivers that children must not attend the service if they are sick. If parents or caregivers are sick, they must not enter the premises and should consider keeping children home to avoid any possible transmission.
Maintaining cleanliness
We are ensuring that everyone is washing their hands regularly. Cleaning is carried out after each session. Our educators will wipe down toys, books and equipment.
Managing bubbles throughout higher Alert levels – Children should only be part of one early learning bubble. Any child who usually attends a combination of services (such as centre-based and home-based), must-visit only one option only during Alert Level 3.
Outside Excursions
Most excursions will not be possible during Alert Level 3. It is permissible to take children for short walks or to an outdoor play area close by if you can do so safely.
